Engineered plastics

Machined components can be manufactured from PTFE and many other Thermoplastics including PEEK, PVDF and PCTFE. They can be either simple turned components or complex CNC milled parts. The types of products available are: Valve Seats, Pump Diaphragms, Energised Spring Seals, Bellows, Machine Guards, and Envelope Gaskets. However if your requirement is for Sheet, Rod or Tube, we can supply the full length or cut piece so that you only get as much as you need.

We have the facilities to manufacture plastic shims to suit your requirements. Our plastic shim is available colour coded to a thickness ranging from 0.01mm – 1.5mm. No matter how simple or complex the components and no matter the quantity required Munsch & Co supply all industry’s with Plastic shims for all applications.

Moulded and Formed Plastics
The versatility offered by today’s advanced thermoforming processes presents new opportunities and economies for the product designer.

All kinds of products and component parts, many of considerable complexity, are regularly produced by Munsch & Co. for a wide variety of industries. These range from large high strength structural mouldings to small and accurate critical parts. We can produce formings up to 8mm thick over an area of 1.5m x 1.2m and to a depth of 600mm.

Pressure-assisted thermoforming makes possible precise lines, undercuts and other features such as all over or localised surface decoration. The process results in parts with low internal stress and good physical properties. It is especially advantageous for low to medium volume production of large area components where lead times are short and large investment in tooling is unacceptable.

Product design can be modified at any time at economic cost to meet new needs or market changes.

With the wide range of engineering thermoplastics available, virtually any combination of properties is possible in the final product. Materials include polycarbonates, ABS, polypropylene, HDPE, acrylics and PETG. Fire-rated materials to British Standards are also available. All parts are finished machined to a high degree of accuracy. Protection with EMI/RFI shielding can be specified, if required.

Handling Systems
Multi-trip component trays and containers designed as integral parts of production handling systems increase efficiency through time saved, reduce wastage and increased output.

Especially applicable to robotically fed and fully automatic assembly lines, thermoformed trays ensure that components arrive at the assembly point not only in the right quantity and on time but with precise and predictable positioning.

Many types and sizes of trays, containers and pallets have been produced by Munsch & Co. to suit a wide variety of components and assembly line needs. We can form trays
up to 8mm thick over an area of 1.5m x 1.2m and to a depth of 600mm.

Various features can be moulded in to protect or retain the product, and to ensure it is presented in the correct configuration for assembly. Properties may be specified to suit the application, such as high strength, chemical resistance, electrical conductivity or static dissipative. For clear identification, trays can include embossed sections featuring company name, logo, part numbers or other information.

Trays or pallets may also be provided with de-nesting and stacking devices. These make possible space-saving stacking of empty units with easy release when required, also stacking of loaded units with full protection for contents.

Special sizes can be produced by welding containers together.

Plastic Racking Systems
Supplied in modular form Munsch & Co. racking is easy and quick to assemble and install in any location, from deep freeze room to factory track side.

Available in both fixed and wheeled models, shelves interlock for ease of assembly.

Manufactured in hard wearing P.V.C. Munsch’s racking can safely support loads in excess of 180kg between uprights and retain its strength in temperatures from -40°C to 80°C. Offering hygienic storage, smooth surfaces allow easy and fast cleaning.

Munsch & Co. racking is impact resistant, maintenance free and impervious to most forms of chemical erosion.
