Over 1000 (Reported) people a year suffer electrical shocks in the workplace. Around 30 of these are fatal.

The health and safety executive state that " insulating rubber matting complying with BS 921 should be provided on the floor, kept clean and dry, and regularly tested, and should be large enough for the test operative to remain on it whether standing or seated during (Electrical) testing (NB: Chair legs may damage the matting.)"

Honeycomb Matting

Honeycomb matting is an extremely versatile product which we carry in two styles; a black standard rubber one and also a red Nitrile (Oil resistant) version.

Both mats are 915mm square x 16mm thick and are interlocking for larger areas. (Two sides have male connectors, two sides female.)

The benefits of this style of matting are numerous, but include the followings:

  • Ideal in an industrial environment due to its anti-fatigue properties and allowing swarf, cutting oils etc. to drop through the honeycomb holes
  • With the mats being 16mm thick, people standing on them are away from the floor to increase warmth during the colder months
  • Superb in gardens i.e. at the bottom of slides to prevent "mud baths" as you can bed them into the ground, but the grass will still grow through them and you can mow right over the top
  • Wheelie bin storage. With local councils increasing the use of wheelie bins throughout the country, not every household has a paved area to keep them on, and inevitably some will end up on lawns or other areas which could turn to mud with regular use in wet conditions. As above these can be bedded into a lawn to prevent it turning to mud, yet the grass can still grow through the holes.
  • The mats are impact absorbent too, this makes them great behind bars in pubs and clubs, not only helping the staff due to their anti-fatigue properties, but also helping to cut down on broken glasses and bottles.
  • The nitrile version of these mats is most suited to an oily environment, whether that be in engineering or in a garage.

Equestrian

We carry a wide variety of matting for equestrian use, from fine fluted matting for the ramps and floors of horse boxes through bedding mats to foam based wall mats.

Our standard stable mats are 1830mm (6') x 1220mm (4') x 17mm (11/16") thick, of which you would require 6 for a standard 12' x 12' stable. For different size stables the mats are easy to cut with a Stanley knife.

We also offer 2000mm (6' 7") x 1000mm (3' 3") x 10mm (3/8") as a lighter weight alternative.

For the walls of both stables and horse boxes we can offer a range of different foam mats in sizes up to 2000mm x 1000mm and almost any thickness, although 25mm is the most commonly used for stables and 12mm for horse boxes.
